Two of my four amazing kids! Many times I am overwhelmed that God would allow me to be a part of their lives - that He brought about the events that brought Linda & I together to begin with. Then I am sobered by the awesome responsibility that I have as a Dad - that the way I live my life will largely determine the way my children will veiw life and God.
To say they are a gift from God is putting it mildly!
Lord, help me to show love, support and encouragement to them in order that they may become the man/woman of God that you have planned for them to be. You say that You knew us before the beginning of time - that You have a plan for our life. Your plan is to prosper us and not to harm us, to give us a bright hope and future. I look forward with anticipation to what you have in mind for our children. Oh, that they may know You and form a relationship with You early on. May they look to You for their strength and wisdom for life. May they early have a heart for the hurting & lost, longing to be used by You, The Giver of Life.

THE STAND

You stood before creation
Forever within Your hand
You spoke all life into motion
My soul now to stand

You stood before my failure
And carried the cross for my shame
My sin weighed upon Your shoulders
My soul now to stand

So what can I say
And what could I do
But offer this heart O God
Completely to You

So I’ll walk upon salvation
Your Spirit alive in me
This life to declare Your promise
My soul now to stand

So I’ll stand
With arms high and heart abandoned
In awe of the One who gave it all

I’ll stand
My soul Lord to You surrendered
All I am is Yours

" Obstacles are meant to strengthen, not defeat. We experience hard times when we start forgetting to appreciate what we have. No matter what challenges you endure, know that it is only to have you remember what you are made of and the power you have to make a difference." Copyright © 2008 Kathlin L. Panteah

...."Two thirds of the people in the land will be cut off and die," says the LORD. "But one-third will be left in the land. I will bring that group through the fire and make them pure. I will refine them like silver and purify them like gold. They will call on my name, and I will answer them. I will say, 'These are my people,' and they will say, 'The LORD is our God.'" Zechariah 13:9b

It is easy to say, "Thank You, Lord for saving me.... It is easy to call Him Saviour.... The burning question is - Do I call Him 'Lord'?.... Is He truly my 'Lord'? Can I cut something out of my life that tends to replace His Lordship in my heart?

Am I willing to go through the fire to be refined like silver and purified like gold? What does that mean for me - does slow business and little income play a part in that? How am I responding to it? Am I willing to take every negative situation and make it a learning and growing experience?

Lord, help me to reach out to others in need and encourage & challenge them to draw closer to you.

Yesterday is but a dream, tomorrow but a vision. But today well lived makes every yesterday a dream of happiness, and every tomorrow a vision of hope. Look well, therefore, to this day. - Indian Proverb

Zechariah 4:6b says, It is not by force nor by strength, but by my Spirit, says the Lord of Heaven's Armies.

Lord, I want to remember this always - esp. at times when things do not move forward like I think they should and I am tempted to MOVE THEM MYSELF! Help me to rely on You, Lord, not on my own fleshly 'strength'.
